Aspen is involved in a variety of projects, both in the private and public sector. We have yards and shops to store materials, construct and maintain equipment and if necessary, modify or construct equipment for unique project requirements. We have the management skills, and resources to build numerous projects simultaneously, giving each job individual attention. The quality of work has built our reputation. We have highlighted several of our projects below.
Lakeside Trail
One of the public projects that relied on Aspen's skilled workforce was Phase 4 of the Lakeside Trail in Tahoe City. Aspen was responsible for the excavation of the trail bed only 8 feet away from Lake Tahoe. Heavy equipment means soil disturbance but this job required extreme caution and sensitivity to water quality concerns.
Downtown Truckee Restoration
In Truckee, Aspen was involved with the Chinese Herb Shop restoration in downtown Truckee and Schaffer's Camp restaurant in Northstar-at-Tahoe. Both of these projects won CATT awards (the Chinese Herb Shop as 2005 Commercial Project and Schaffer's Camp as the 2006 Alternative Building Methods Project).
Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences
This three story, state-of-the-art building provides a world-class center for scientific research in the understanding of alpine lakes and the preservation of the environmental quality of important resources.
Grays Affordable Housing
A 5 acre, 92 unit apartment complex built using prefab units under a tight construction schedule.
Washoe County Jail
31,000 sf building expansion for an operating jail within a secure complex.
Walgreen's
New construction of commercial building.
Reno Ballroom
Demolition of existing steel building and all site work for new building in downtown Reno.
UNR Student Union
